Kristie Larson, Director of Education and Tami Parr, Director of Marketing and Communications at American Royal—an iconic part of Kansas City history since 1899—will highlight the rebranding process the organization went through several years ago to help change public perception of the organization and their mission. Once known as the host and organizer of the World Series of Barbecue (which they still are), they are also becoming known to the public as the nonprofit that gives over $1 million annually for youth scholarships and heavily supports agricultural education programs.

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand how mission articulation affects a business brand
  • Articulate decision making processes around rebranding
  • Understand major steps in rebranding processes
  • Understand how to focus events around rebranding
