Donna will share her vast experiences in connecting with both educators and business and industry. She makes a compelling argument for why educators need to be at the center of initiating relationships with business and industry and what type of administrative support they need to help their chances of success.

Teachers will leave with:
  • An easy strategy to use local economic development and ‘hot jobs’ data to quickly ignite business partnerships for your classroom.
  • The questions to ask business partners to tease out authentic projects for your students to work on, gaining employability skills, resume, and social capital (professional network).
  • Examples of business partnerships that started small and the strategies teachers used to grow the extent of the partnership.
  • QuickStart exercise that identifies the first opportunities for business partnerships that are localized & customized to individual teachers based on their school location and their students’ interests.
  • Tools to grow, enrich and sustain your business and community partnerships.
